Trade up to a new Mac or take the cash
Some commonly asked questions about our trade in programs:
Q: Can I trade in any Macintosh?
A: Not all computers have a trade in value. We have supplied the form at right to tell us about your trade in and its specifications.
Q: How much will I get for it?
A: We use a variety of factors to decide the best value for your computer. These factors include model, condition, etc.
Q: How long does this take?
A: We're as anxious to get you into a new Macintosh as you are! As soon as we get your response form we'll give you an estimate. If you accept we ask that you bring in your machine for physical evaluation. If everything checks out we will call to finalize the sale. Also, since we already have your machine, we can migrate the software at no charge.**
Q: What happens to my old data on my old computer?
A: Once we're 100% sure your new computer is working and the data has been fully transferred, we erase the data on your old machine using a SECURE data erase. None of your documents are ever shared.
Q: Is this the best way to get rid of my older Macintosh?
A: Depends. Some people will give computers to friends or family or try to sell it themselves on eBay. This option provides the fastest way to get a discount on a new computer purchase.
Q: Can I sell you my older Mac then go buy a new one at the AppleStore?
A: No, the Apple Store does not offer trade-ins.
** Equipment eligible for the free migration must be in working order and running Macintosh OS X 10.2 or higher.
